Selection procedure for PhD and MD/PhD degrees

You are here:

If you wish to obtain a PhD or MD/PhD degree and do not want to do this within the scope of a doctoral program or a graduate school, you can apply from 3 July to 29 August 2019, 03:00 PM for a PhD or MD/PhD place beginning in the winter semester of 2019.

The number of places per year or semester is limited: The places are allocated by the Doctoral Commission within the scope of a selection procedure. Please submit your applications to the Office for Doctoral Studies.

Please note: If you have already been accepted to a structured program for doctoral degree candidates aiming for a PhD or MD/PhD within the scope of a selection procedure, i.e. for instance in a doctoral program, a graduate school (for which the Charité acts as spokesperson) or a Marie-Curie Actions Innovative Training Network (ITN), you do not need to apply for participation in the selection procedure conducted by the Doctoral Commission. If you have applied nevertheless, please notify us immediately, specifying the relevant contact person if you have been accepted for an ITN.
